10 Memorable Moments of the 2018 Atlanta DeKalb Carnival

        On May 25th, 2019,  The Atlanta DeKalb Carnival will once again take place in Stonecrest, GA. If you are attending the carnival for the first time and curious about the type of of amazing moments we have, take a peek at a few highlights below!

WARNING: WHAT WE HAVE IN STORE FOR YOU THIS YEAR IS EVEN BIGGER! 

        1.)  Kes The Band heating up the Atlanta DeKalb Carnival festival stage was a "lituation".  Check out the band performing one of their biggest hits, "Hello". The moment was undeniably special, everyone was grooving and feeling the vybez! Even the ADC festival staff had to stop for a moment and get a few "wines" in. It was an legendary performance!         2.)  The Mas Bands are the heart of the carnival. At the 2018 ADC, carnival goers lined the streets and cheered on the 20+ Mas Bands. There was over 4,000 masqueraders. Here is a video of a young king dancing and enjoying the sounds at the parade. This is definitely a moment to remember, as this clip was shared across all of social media! Too cute!
 

     3.)  2018 was Atlanta DeKalb Carnival's first time at our new location, Stonecrest, GA. The parade route was lined with a splendid variety of evergreen, trees, and flowers. The nearby stores at Stonecrest made for easy access to parade needs such as: food and beverages. Many patrons and paraders continue to rave about the new location and we are happy to return.      4.) Families come together at Atlanta DeKalb Carnival. Watch as Financial Specialist, Nikki Philander, films her daughter enjoying her culture at the ADC. Do you recall your first carnival? These moments are definitely priceless and we are happy to share them with you.
      This year we will have a kid zone
 in the Festival Village. Children will be able to dance on their very own stage, get their face painted, and play in bouncy houses. Remember, kids under 12 get in the festival village free. Purchase discounted tickets to the festival here.

     5.) The moment when Socacize founder, and fitness instructor Ayanna Lee-Rivears, led an aerobic demonstration with festival goers. It was EPIC.  Socacize Fitness is the combination of Soca dance and aerobics. The crowd was excited to participate.

     6.) Atlanta DeKalb Carnival is a great event to see masqueraders showcase their beautiful and colorful Carnival Costumes. It is a sight to behold. Here are a few memorable pictures of masqueraders in an array of characters and costumes. Which one is your favorite?



     7.) The 2018 Atlanta DeKalb Carnival featured over 40 vendors! Patrons inside the festival village were able to snack on different food from various Islands, purchase accessories, sip on delicious cocktails, and enjoy cups of frozen drinks and yogurt.  Each vendor provided a unique contribution to the festival that made ADC even more memorable.     8.)  2018 ADC drew an estimated 40,000 visitors! This was beyond our imagination, however, DeKalb police and our security team did an excellent job with crowd and traffic control.  There was no incidents. As expected with any new venue change, there was a few kinks, however this year, we are prepared and promise things will be even better.

     9.) "Rain or Shine, ADC is going to have a good time" 🎶🎼. At the 2018 Atlanta DeKalb Carnival, festival goers were surprised with a short rain shower. This absolutely stopped nothing, as people continued to dance and party! 

     10.) Caribbean Life Tv did an excellent job covering the 2018 ADC. CLTV is an Atlanta based TV show, broadcasted on YouTube. Check out their coverage of our event as they captured many memorable moments of the carnival.
